CONTRACT OMBUDS SERVICE
For a trusted advisor, listening ear, and a neutral outside perspective, think Ombuds.
What is an Ombudsperson?
The name “Ombudsman” (om - budz - man) comes from Sweden and literally means “representative.” An Ombudsman (or Ombudsperson, or simply Ombuds) assists individuals and groups in the resolution of conflicts or concerns.
KEY FUNCTIONS & BENEFITS OF AN OMBUDSPERSON
An Ombudsperson provides a neutral outside perspective and a confidential safe place for an employee to vent, feel heard and think through their issues constructively.
The employee may also request the Ombudsperson’s help to arrange and mediate a meeting with a colleague, if the colleague agrees.
A key benefit of Pax Napier’s contract Ombuds service for organizations is the consistent, cost-effective access to Ombuds services throughout the year.
Leadership may also request a quarterly report from the Ombudsperson which highlights the general themes and trends in the issues raised by employees (without breaking confidentiality) and any systemic concerns to be addressed.
Ombuds services are
billed on retainer, normally up to
10 hours per month.
